There are still 77,000 ballots in Fresno County left to process, and many of those will be within the city of Fresno. But, early numbers show a disparity in turnout based on geography.

In the latest results update released Friday (Nov. 9) afternoon, Fresnans cast 86,687 ballots, or 36% turnout.

In districts 3, 5 and 7, which covers Fresno south of Highway 180, turnout averaged 25%. For the rest of the city, turnout was 41%.

The raw data through Nov. 9:

Votes Registered Turnout
City wide 86,697 242,943 36%
D3 6,921 28,303 24%
D5 8,783 31,099 28%
D7 6,239 27,036 23%
D1, 2, 4, 6 64,754 156,505 41%

All these numbers will rise, based on the remaining votes to be tallied. Based on the increase of votes added from election night results to the Friday update, the voting turnout disparity between south Fresno and the rest of the city may only grow.
