Myles BarkerThe field of candidates to become the next Reedley College president is down to two, and the public can learn more about them through public forums next week.
Both forums will take place at Reedley College’s Student Center on Tuesday, Jan. 29.
The first public forum will feature Reedley College interim president Donna Berry. It will run from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
Jerry Buckley will talk during the second public forum, which will run from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

To find potential candidates, the State Center Community College District used the services of the Association of Community College Trustees to conduct a nationwide search, said Lucy Ruiz, the district’s executive director for public and legislative relations.Berry has been the interim president of Reedley College since July 2018 and was vice president of administrative services at Reedley College for nearly seven years.

Buckley has been the assistant superintendent/vice president of academic affairs at Santa Clarita Community College District since August 2013. He also served as vice president of instruction at San Diego Community College District.
While at Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, he held the positions of senior dean of planning research and institutional effectiveness, acting vice president of academic affairs, dean, interim associate dean, and professor.

Berry and Buckley will present their vision for Reedley College’s future and answer pre-submitted questions.
The deadline to submit questions online is at noon Monday, Jan. 28. Email your questions to Sareang.Nhim@scccd.edu.
If time allows, questions from the audience at the forums will be fielded by the candidates.
Candidate feedback will be compiled by Survey Monkey. The link will be activated Tuesday, Jan. 29, and will close at noon Wednesday, Jan. 30.
