Fresno police suspect a woman was shot and killed by the man she got a domestic-violence restraining order against a day earlier.
Police Chief Jerry Dyer says the 40-year-old man killed himself while being chased by officers Saturday.
Dyer says police found the 26-year-old woman shot to death inside her home.
The chief says the victim was in court Friday successfully seeking a restraining order against the man, the father of her 1-year-old daughter. Dyer says investigators believe the apparent murder-suicide may have stemmed from the court order.
The baby was not at home at the time of the shooting.
Police didn’t immediately identify the man or the woman.
