Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer said Monday the city will build a senior center and senior housing project on the site of a vacant grocery store in central Fresno. The city will purchase the property on Blackstone Ave., just north of Ashlan, for $6.4 million. Dyer said the existing store will be demolished and estimated construction costs for the senior facilities to be $20 million.
GV Wire videographer Johnny Soto was on hand as Dyer and city councilmembers Nelson Esparza and Tyler Maxwell described the city’s plans.
Johnny's career began on stage; where he was able to explore different techniques in acting, directing and lighting while attended both the Stella Adler Conservatory and the Lee Strasberg Institute in Los Angeles. During that time, he also worked as a director and editor for two major advertising agencies, and produced everything from feature-length films to multi-camera live broadcasts before returning back home to Fresno.
