Ukrainian hackers claim to have breached the emails of Lt. Col. Sergey Morgachev, a Russian military spy accused of organizing the hack and leak of emails from the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign in 2018.

The group, called Cyber Resistance said it had stolen correspondence from Morgachev, who was wanted by the FBI for the hacking of the Hillary Clinton campaign and other senior U.S. Democrats.

The veracity of the claim could not be fully confirmed but information shared by the hackers with Ukrainian publication, InformNapalm, lines up with previously leaked data preserved by cybersecurity research platform Constella Intelligence.

It was unclear how significant the information the hackers had managed to steal was or what it might contain. Attempts to reach Morgachev via social media and his current place of employment were unsuccessful.
