gvwireFollowing a three-week investigation, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office has filed murder, arson, and robbery charges in the death of a female employee at a massage spa.
The charged man is Jacoby Jackson, 32, of Tulare. Authorities apprehended him on April 18 in Stanislaus County and returned him to Tulare County, the DA’s office said in a news release on Wednesday.
Jackson, who has previous criminal convictions, is being held without bail. He entered a not-guilty plea at his arraignment on Monday and is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing on May 11.

Xiuqun Yuan, of Los Angeles, was found by Tulare firefighters and police officers responding to a fire at 7 Day Spa on K Street on April 9. She appeared to have been strangled, according to investigators, but was alive. She later died at a hospital.
The DA’s office said that Jackson was identified as a suspect by investigators reviewing surveillance video.
