Wanting to give readers a view of the water spilling over the top of Friant Dam, I asked the Bureau of Reclamation if GV Wire could utilize drone video there.
The Bureau granted our request, and the result is spectacular footage that you can view by clicking the video above or below.
In addition, we received an interview with Bureau engineer Rufino Gonzalez, who is in charge of water operations at Friant Dam, as well as Bradbury Dam near Santa Barbara.
In the video, he says that the amount of water released from the dam this season would be enough to fill Millerton Lake nine times.
