Fresno children who are uninsured or insured through Medi-Cal are eligible to participate in free immunization clinics provided by Fresno Unified School District at Tioga Middle School.

Students with insurance should see their medical providers or pharmacies that offer vaccines.

All students entering school must meet state immunization requirements. Students entering kindergarten and seventh grade must provide proof of updated immunization.

For kindergarten entry, students are required to be up to date on vaccines against polio, diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus (Dtap), mumps, measles, and rubella (MMR), hepatitis B, and varicella. All incoming seventh graders must show proof of current vaccination against pertussis (whooping cough) and have a second varicella immunization.

No appointments are necessary for the vaccination clinics, which will be provided by the district’s Health Services Department at the following times:

  • Aug. 7, 8, 10, 12, 19, 23, 24, and 25, 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Up to 50 students can be seen on a first-come, first-served basis each day.
  • Aug. 14-18 (first week of school), 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Up to 75 students per day, first-come, first-served.
  • Aug. 21-22, 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Up to 75 students per day, first-come, first-served.

The clinics will be in room 36 at Tioga Middle, 3232 E. Fairmount Ave.

Students getting vaccinations must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and bring their current immunization record and current Medi-Cal card.
