Edward SmithBeginning June 8, 2024, airline passengers can catch flights to Dallas, Texas, from Fresno Yosemite International on Southwest Airlines. Additionally, Southwest will add a third flight to Las Vegas beginning next summer.
The flights to Dallas Love Field each Saturday mean passengers can more easily fly to Florida or other destinations on the East Coast, according to a news release from FYI. The third flight to Las Vegas will also be on Saturdays.
“Southwest Airlines continues to meet the air service demands of Central Valley travelers by adding new routes and increasing flight frequencies during peak travel seasons,” said Director of Aviation Henry Thompson. “We extend our appreciation to Southwest Airlines for its continued commitment and investment in the Fresno market.”
Dallas Love Field is the busiest medium-hub airport in the country, according to the airport. Southwest, Delta Air Lines, and Alaska Airlines fly out of the municipally-owned airport, which is smaller than the sprawling Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The drive from Love Field to downtown Dallas takes about 20 minutes — about 15 minutes quicker than from DFW.
Flying out of Love Field, Southwest offers 64 nonstop destinations to nationwide locations.
Tickets for the Love Field route are now available.
Southwest added Fresno as a destination in April 2021. It currently offers nonstop flights to Denver, Colorado, and Las Vegas.
